On May 4, 2012 senior partner of Law Group “Argument” Denis Aleinikov took part in the VIII Congress of the public association “Belarusian Republican Union of Lawyers” that was held at the Palace of the Republic.

The grand opening started with the welcoming speech from the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko who addressed the participants of the VIII Congress of the public association “Belarusian Republican Union of Lawyers”; the speech was read by the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Valeriy Mitskievich.

The representatives of the Presidential Administration, House of Representatives, Constitutional Court, Supreme Court, Supreme Economic Court, Prosecutor General's Office, Ministry of Justice and other government agencies participated in the congress.

As a result of the work of the forum a resolution that summarizes the results of the Belarusian Republican Union of Lawyers work and specifies the future activities of the public association was adopted.

On April 18, 2012 the senior partner of Law Group “Argument” Denis Aleinikov took part in the Legal Forum Russia, VIII Annual Business Forum held under the guidance of the newspaper “Vedomosti” in Moscow.

In the framework of the forum the leading representatives of business and legal community discussed the legal issues that contribute to or, on the contrary, hinder business development. They also discussed the initiative on the amendment of the Civil Code and the possible consequences of these changes for corporate law.

At the discussion areas the forum participants also considered competition law and jurisprudence issues.

On March 29, 2012 the partner of Law Group “Argument” Dmitry Matveyev took part in the networking and B2B matchmaking event between the Swiss and Belarusian businessmen held under the leadership of the Minsk department of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The Swiss side was represented by such leading companies as Swiss Capital Group and Muri Rechtsanwalte, as well as other companies interested in establishing mutually beneficial cooperation and conducting joint projects on the Belarusian market.

Law Group "Argument" advises Austrian Kapsch TrafficCom AG in connection with commencement of investment project on implementation in the Republic of Belarus of the national electronic tolling system for motor vehicles on selected roads.

The investment agreement between the Republic of Belarus and Kapsch TrafficCom AG was signed on February 29, 2012.

Law Group "Argument" was chosen a legal consultant in Belarus in 2008.

On February, 15 -17, 2012 the partner of Law Group “Argument” Dmitry Matveyev as a member of the World Bank expert group presented the draft laws developed in the framework of the international technical assistance programme “Belarus: Promoting the Development of Securities Market Following the Financial Sector Assessment.”

For three days Dmitry Matveyev along with other speakers at the event, Mr Marius Vismantas, the World Bank Private and Financial Sector Coordinator for Ukraine, Belarus, and Moldova, and Mr Eric Whitfield, the senior international consultant of the international technical assistance programme, covered the issues related to the draft laws of the Republic of Belarus “On Securities Market” and “On Investment Funds”.

On February 24, 2012 the senior partner of Law Group “Argument” Denis Aleinikov took part in the VIII Annual Legal Forum “Development of the Legal Services Market in Ukraine – 2012” organized by the Association of Lawyers of Ukraine.

During the eighth consecutive years this specialized event has gathered partners and heads of law firms, law offices and directors of legal departments for management and business development.

This year for the purpose of highlighting and discussing the topical issues in the vision of the legal business the forum brought together representatives of over one hundred law firms from Belarus, Ukraine, Russia, Georgia and other countries.

On November 15, 2011 the senior partner of Law Group "Argument" Denis Aleinikov attended the first meeting of the readers club of "Journal of the Supreme Economic Court" organized by the governing body of the Supreme Economic Court and the journal's editors.

In the framework of the meeting the representatives of the Supreme Economic Court and the leading law firms discussed the possible relevant topics for future publications, for roundtables and workshops for subscribers from the perspective of a practitioner, and possibility of greater involvement of the legal community in the discussion on legal issues within the competence of economic courts through the Journal of the Supreme Economic Court and the Internet portal of the economic courts as discussion platforms.

On November 14, 2011 the lawyers of Law Group "Argument" took part in the networking and B2B matchmaking event for the delegation of business circles of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region (China).

The event was held by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in cooperation with the Office of the Commercial Counsellor of the People's Republic of China in Belarus.
