On November 18, 2011 senior partner of Law Group "Argument" Denis Aleinikov and partner Dmitry Matveev participated in the business seminar “Attracting Finance and Investment and its Protection”.

The master class was organized by Hogan Lovells, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and others.

The keynote speaker of the seminar was the director of the Securities Department of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Halperin.

During the master class such important topics as legal aspects of investment in the Republic of Belarus, the review of the EBRD activities in Belarus, joint ventures in Russia and the CIS countries were discussed.

Denis Aleinikov, Senior Partner of Law Group “Argument” participated in the enlarged session of the Permanent Council for foreign investments at the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus on February 18, 2011.

The event was held under the chairmanship of Sergei Rumas, Deputy Prime-Minister of the Republic of Belarus. Representatives of the Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Taxes, Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, State Customs Committee were among the speakers of the session.

The frame of the event has covered a unique opportunity for all participants in two open sections (key trends of further liberalization of Belarusian economy within the frames of implementation of Presidential Directive No.4 of the President of the Republic of Belarus “On Promotion of Entrepreneurial Initiative and Stimulation of Business Activity in the Republic of Belarus”, on topical issues of operation of The Customs Union of the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan and Russian Federation, Formation of the united economic area), to ask the speakers questions they are interested ion and to express their proposals on legislation improvement being the key element of the investment climate in the republic.

Dmitry Matveyev, Partner of Law Group “Argument” participated in the open Conference of the Belarusian Public Association “Belarusian Scientific and Manufacturing Association” and International Business Council on February 17, 2011, organized under assistance of the Ministry of Economy: “Opportunities and prospects of increasing businesses and investments in the Republic of Belarus for domestic and foreign industrialists and businessmen”.

About 450 people took part in the conference, among them were members of the BPA “Belarusian Scientific and Manufacturing Association”, chiefs of enterprises, scientific communities, business associations, public associations, representatives of the Parliament and the Government.

Apart from discussing the issues on practical implementation of Directive No.4, the conference’s focus was development of trade and economic ties with the partners from abroad and attracting investments, for which purpose chiefs of industrial and entrepreneurship partnership associations as well as a number of economic entities from Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Latvia and other states were invited to take part in the event.

Senior Partner of Law Group “Argument” Denis Aleinikov participated in the ceremony of the highest legal award “Themis” on December 3, 2010 held on the eve of the professional holiday of those who protect rights and interests and stand upon justice – Lawyer’s Day.

Senior partner of Law Group «Argument» Denis Aleinikov lectured within the course of 2-hour workshop on "Protection of Belarusian exporters in the Ukraine". The event which took place in Hotel Crowne Plaza Minsk was organized by the popular Belarusian law magazine Trade and Industrial Lawl.

The partner of the prominent Ukrainian Law Firm "SAYENKO KHARENKO" Sergei Ignatovsky lectured on antidumping procedure stipulated by the Ukrainian law.

Lawyers of Law Group «Argument» lectured together with representatives of one of the best law firms in Russia "ALRUD" 2-hour workshop on "Debt collection in Russia".

The event took place in Hotel Crowne Plaza Minsk. Senior partner Denis Aleinikov made an introduction report on debt collection in the Russian Federation. The partner of Law Firm "ALRUD" Aleksandr Zharsky lectured on trial and pre-trial debt collection, simplified procedure of debt collection in the Russian courts.

The workshop was organized by the Trade and Industrial Law Journal.

Law Group «Argument» in the person of its partner Andrey Kozik took active part in organization of the Vth International Law Contest «Youth for Peace». The event gathered together students from 18 well-known universites from Switzerland, China, Moldova, India, Georgia, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Rwanda, Singapore, Tajikistan, France, Uzbekistan.

Presently, this Contest is considered to be one of three major international law contests in Europe and is the biggest humanitarian law contest in Eastern Europe.

Senior partner Denis Aleinikov made a report "Legal safeguards for foreign investors in Belarusian legislation" during seminar for Swiss businesses in Zurich hosted by a Swiss leading bank - "Credit Suisse". The seminar was a part of the meeting of the Belarus-Switzerland Joint Committee on Trade and Economic Cooperation. The Belarusian delegation led by Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Yeudachenka.

The speakers highlighted major trends in the Belarusian economy, and enlightened the audience about trade and tariff policies of Belarus in the context of the newly created Customs Union of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia. The speakers particularly dwelled on what legal guarantees and preferences the Swiss businesses might have if they invest in Belarus.
